Program itinerary

Day 1 : Starting In The Casablanca Airport And Driving To Rabat:

After arrival, our team will drive you to Casablanca and then to Rabat. In Casablanca, we will guide you to the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Africa. And experience the coastal “Cornish”. Afterwards, we will leave for Rabat, the capital of Morocco, where we will spend the night in a Riad in the middle of Medina.

Day 2 : Rabat – Chefchaouen:

After your breakfast in Riad, our driver/guide will take you to visit the Hassan Tower and Mausolée Mohammed-V in Rabat and Kasbah of Oudayas, then drive directly to Chefchaouen through the city of Kenitra, over viewing Wazzan and some Rifian villages. Our Driver and you will be in Chefchaouen by the early afternoon.

Day 3 : Chefchaouen City:

One day in Blue city to discover one of the most beautiful destinations in Morocco, one of the magical cities at the feet of the Rif. The Chefchaouen medina (city) had a Spanish-style square surrounded by many funky arts and crafts stores, roof-top restaurants and cafes where you will spend your night in a nice place to enjoy the breeze and the beauty of nature.

Day 4 : Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes:

When you take breakfast in the riad, our exciting journey will start towards Volubilis, crossing via Wazan and other Rif. In Volubilis as historical landscape, You will visit the Roman ruins andlet you explore the archeological site and its Morrocan history. After visiting the ruins, we will take our way to Meknes, a city with a 17th century heritage. you will stop in this place for lunch and hang out at the historical huge walls of the medina, Bab el Mansour and enjoy a visit to Moulay Ismail’s shrif.
After the visit to Meknes we will drive to Fes city, where you will spend your night.

Day 5 : Fes Sightseeing:

After breakfast in your riad, you will met our Local Guide and you will start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets.
Our visit starts by visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish headquarters, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built during the 16th century. We will ensure that you visit all sites with a cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in Morocco and the World, the Attarine museum, Tanneries, and Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After having lunch, our Driver will be waiting you when you finish visiting the Medina of Fes with Local Guide to take you to your Hotel/Riad.

Day 6 : Fes To Midelt:

You will leave Fes about 11:00 travelling towards Ifran, a beautiful mountain village, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco”, because of its landscapes, and then to Midelt city. In this journey you’ll enjoy glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Overlooking Azrou, where the biggest forest exists in Morocco – where you will see apes. After a break, within the forest, your travel keeps moving to Midelt and its great hills and the neighboring mountains. In this city you will be accommodated in a hotel.

Day 7 : Midelt – Ziz Valley To Erfoud And Merzouga Desert:

The day starts with breakfast in your hotel; our Driver and you will direct to Merzouga through Errachidia. And you will go through the fascinating Tizi(pass) Ntalghamt and the Ziz Gorge, over viewing the High Atlas plateau. You’ll observe how the scenery changes to reveal beginnings of the desert as you come closer the city of Errachidia, where you will have lunch and see the Berber hospitality and generosity. After this, you will travel alongside the fantastic Ziz Valley with lot of Palms trees, having a break for panoramic sightseeing along the way to Erfoud and Rissani. You will arrive to Merzouga in afternoon. You’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you see your rooms in the Hotel where you will spend your night.

Day 8 : Merzouga Desert – Local Families – Oasis – Khamlia Village – Erg Chebbi Merzouga:

This is a complete Desert day in Merzouga. If you are in the middle of the desert, it`s worthy of getting up early to witness the beautiful sunrise you might have ever seen sitting on a dune nearby the camp and enjoy this landscape that is a gift of nature. After sunrise, you will take your breakfast in the camp and after that we go back to Merzouga on the camels or 4×4, that depend of your choose. Therefore, we`ll skirt the Erg Chebbi, great extension of sandy desert where we can find the Big Dune of Morocco. That has more than 250 mats high. We continue then by the road and ends in the mountains that limit with Algeria. Stop at Tissardmin oasis where we can find fossil quarries still present in the area, we continue then by a the off road where we can see nomad settlements and learn their secrets and manners. The next stop will be at a viewpoint to contemplate the hole Erg Chebbi. We`ll reach then Kamilia Village, where we´ll take a cup of tea mint while you listen to a concert of the spiritual music of Gnawa. Transfer to your accommodation and free afternoon to enjoy the town or the dunes next to the hotel to see the sunset. Dinner and night in the hotel.

Day 9 : Merzouga – Rissani Market – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley:

We leave the desert after breakfast to go to Rissani where we`ll visit the big market in the desert area ( market days: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday), we continue then to Erfoud where we can visit the manufactures of fossilized marble before starting our way to Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves. One hour later we´ll reach one of the best places of the High Atlas, the Todra Gorges. The course of the river has carved out cliff-sided canyon and it´s because of its beauty and the high rock sides that´s very popular among climbers. Free time to have lunch in this wonderful place. A short walk through the gorges is very advisable to better appreciate the beauty of the landscape. In the afternoon we continue to the Dadès valley, also known as the figs valley going through Boumalne Dadés we`ll stop at the “monkey legs” for panoramic photo. Dinner and night at the Dadès gorges.

Day 10 : Dades Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – Kasbah In Ouarzazate – Marrakech:

The day begins with breakfast in the hotel, and you will travel through the Dades Valley towards Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. The route across Dades Valley offers more opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip in both the famous valley for its roses and the cinema city of Ouarzazate. We will pass by Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. the largest Kasbah in Morocco and the best conserved, built by T-hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains. It is now a UNESCO heritage site. After that, we will begin to cross the high Atlas mountains with many differently panoramic views in the high Atlas mountain of Tizi N Tichka and attractive Berber villages all along the way until arrive to marrakech. night in Riad with breakfast.

Day 11 : Marrakech – Essaouira Beach:

The hustle and bustle of Marrakech quickly slips away as you travel to and enter into the peace and beauty that is Essaouira. This ancient citadel on the West Atlantic coast of Africa literally means “wall” in the Berber language, and you’ll soon discover why. Travelers from all over the world come here to experience the very special weather, and explore its diverse and unique history.
when we leave Marrakech, we drive through lush valleys filled with orange groves, ancient olive trees and working farms on the drive to the coast. After a short while, we arrive in Chichaoua, where we can take a short break for a coffee or snack.
After your break, we will keep on moving, soon coming on our first signs of the Argan trees. These special trees are valued for their cosmetic and numerous medical purposes and reasons. The tree, a relic species from the Tertiary age, is extremely well adapted to drought and other difficult conditions of southwestern Morocco, and because they are now endangered, they are under the protection of UNESCO.
After all of your morning travels, you arrive in Essouira, where you have the chance to wander the ancient streets and can imagine what life existed here in the past.

Day 12 : Going Back From Essaouira To Marrakech:

As usual the breakfast is taken in your riad, and you depart back to Marrakech at 11:00. On the way – since this is the land of Argan culture – this is an opportunity to visit the women’s co-operative of Argan oil where they extract the oil that is famous for its culinary, cosmetic and medical properties. After several breaks to take photographs, you will continue your travel to Marrakech and check-in to your riad. After dinner you will enjoy walking in the square of Jemaa El fna, entertained by magicians, story tellers, musicians and snake charmers. Overnight in a riad in the Medina.

Day 13 : Visit Of Marrakech With Local Guide:

After breakfast in the riad, you can start exploring Marrakech “the reddish city of Morocco”. We will ensure that you see the most important sites of historical and cultural interest, including the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia Palace with profesional local guide. After lunch at a restaurant near the square, you will walk through the souks (local markets) and view hundreds of handicrafts. Afternoon, you will have some free time to wander by yourself through the other parts of the city.

Day 14 : Free Day In Marrakech For Relax:

Today you will be on your own and if you would like to have a cooking class or SPA massage or any activities, Saharalocaltours Team will help to arrange it for you.
