1 Day : Merzouga Excursion In 4×4 Desert Tour:
At 10 am, we’ll start Merzouga desert tour and we pick you up in Merzouga village. We’ll explore the villages and interesting places around Erg Chebbi. We start to explore Hassilabied where you’ll see the canal irrigation system that allows the locals to grow a lush garden of peach trees and date palms in the middle of the desert. We’ll also see “Dayet Srji lake” which forms in the spring time during wet years, in which case it attracts flamingoes and other wildlife and is very popular with bird-watchers.
We’ll visit also Khamlia village, home of spiritual Gnawa (Gnaoua) music. Afterwards, we’ll explore desert of Erg Chebbi. We’ll visit a local Nomad family, living in desert. We’ll also travel through the hauntingly beautiful black desert, so names because of the dark volcanic rocks that cover the ground. Our tour wraps up when we return you to your hotel in Merzouga at 4pm.
